Gundello Godari Review: Story
Chitra [Lakshmi] is a middle class girl, whose love of life from childhood is Suri [Sandeep]. Malli [Adhi] is a fisherman who dreams of having his own boat one day and Sarala [Taapsee] has romantic crush on him. Game of destiny forces Chitra and Malli to get married. Why did they get married, What happened to their respective love stories has to be seen on the silver screen
Gundello Godari Review : Star Performances
Lakshmi Manchu has once again proved that she has the acting skills by birth. She has given a natural performance in Chitra role and Godavari slang added bonus to her character. Adhi as Malli was neat and his expressions has matched well with the movie flow. Sandeep Kishan role is small in the film yet makes audience remember him when moving out of hall. Interesting package of the film is Taapsee. She steamed the theater with her hot role as Sarala, especially her naughty dialogues and curves in half saree will make you awake this night. Ravi Babu has excelled in role of womanizer, Praveen, Dhan Raj did little comedy and other character just came in and went out.
Gundello Godari Review : Direction, Music & Technical Aspects
Kumar Nagendra has failed in direction, Screenplay department but his story and dialogues were good. M.R.Palanikumaar cinematography was good especially at the floods scenes but rest of the film looks normal. Ilaiyaraaja back ground music is too good and his songs were also soothful to hear. Editing is one more minus aspect of the film. The art department must be appreciated for their recreation of 80's village at present day.
Gundello Godari Review : Analysis
Film being made on real life incidents of 1986 Godavari floods, Lakshmi acting and producing it, Telugu hero Adhi entering Tollywood after long time, Taapsee who is struggling to stick her place in film industry, on top of it legendary musician Ilaiyaraaja's music and with this package everyone expects a lot but let see what Gundello Godari is offering for audience.
Film starts with a excellent well canned flood scene and this follows the flash back part of the Adhi character till the interval. The best things in first half are hot Taapsee, item song of Mumaith khan, background score, comedy by Praveen. The little irritating stuff here is slow phased narration of love story between Adhi and Taapsee.
The Second half is where flashback part of Lakshmi gets unfolded introducing new characters of Sandeep Kishan, Ravi Babu, Malyalam actress Suja Varunee in the movie. Lakshmi natural acting in second half is good, Sandeep performance was nice but short, and Suja Varunee is spicy with item song. But biggest drawback of the film is dead slow presentation by the direction, couple of pathetic & sentimental scenes which test your patience and even the background wont help it, in spite make you feel sleepy.
