Manoj Bhargava who is an Indian-American billionaire philanthropist has revealed a stationary bicycle which can generate electricity and it be of more helpful to rural households. This cycle can generate electricity which can fulfill energy needs in rural areas. 


While revealing the electricity generating cycle, Bhargava said, "This stationary bicycle generates power. This is a simple mechanism. The pedal turns a flywheel and through which it spins a generator which charges the attached battery. The cycle can be sold for a price between Rs.12000 - 15000. 


This will be available in market from March next year. Right now from the initial reports, one hour of pedaling can meet a rural household's electricity needs for 24 hours. Two lights, a ceiling fan and a cell phone charge can be done. This can be done without any electricity bills, fuel (petrol or diesel) costs or polluting the environment." 


Bhargava also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi with respect to this product. After revealing the product, he met press and said, "I already discussed with Modi ji long back."
