It is quite common that NRI's are slowly becoming victims of burglary and robbery. The NRI woman is from Australia and she was visiting Madhura. She came all the way to explore the paintings and other architectures.
She was carrying her passport, visa and other important documents in her handbag and she has formally reported that they have been stolen. Regarding this, DSP Chakrapani Tripathi said, "It seems the incident has taken place last evening. The NRI Victim name is Shashi Latha who is a resident of Sydney.
She came out of her hotel room and some one has snatched her belongings which also includes her handbag. She was staying at Brijbasi Royal hotel in Kotwali police station area and a case was filed in the same jurisdiction. As per her statement the bag has carried her purse, passport, visa, ticket, credit card, cash including foreign currency and mobile.
She has came to Mathura with six other persons. She is a native of Punjab." The DSP further added that an FIR has been registered and few suspects were arrested based on CCTV footages.
