Still there is a myth among few parents that, NRI groom or bride is often safe. Recently, few days back, Delhi based woman was arrested with respect to bigamy. Now once again, a NRI groom was arrested at Chappar Village. His name was Vijaypreet Singh.
The accused was booked under sections420, 495, 496, 406, 376 and 120B of the IPC for duping and raping a woman. He never revealed his true identity and marital status before tying the knot.
The police have also fixed dowry charges case against him and they are making raids at his parent's residence. The victim just said that she never knew that he was married already and she also said, "She was raped".
She confessed to Police that the NRI groom is from Canada and his parents were threatened if the issue is taken to public. However, The woman’s parents reported the matter to the police and also submitted the details of the first marriage of the NRI solemnized on September 26, 2015.
