Currently a top official has told that any e-commerce player who are selling products or who are dealing if food business will have to get registered with the FSSAI and the in charge authority have instructed the online retailers who are dealing with food products or its business have to register under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, which was declared by the FSSAI Chairman Ashish Bahuguna.


These e-commerce business doers are selling food products or dealing in one or another form of food business and the food business comes under the ambit of FSSAI and it is a must they have to register their transactions. The regulator has told that without registering the business, it is an illegal business of dealing in food products or appropriate food business.


He has also told that the Food Safety and Standards Act have had discussions with these companies in this regard. In the forthcoming days the startup’s companies like Foodpanda India, Zomato, Swiggy, and Peppertap and e-commerce giants which include Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon have to compulsorily register with the regulator.


When Food safety act is followed, the e-commerce players can ensure the quality of the food products even safety to the customers.
