The EAMCET Counselling controversy between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has deepened on Monday. Telangana government is thinking on the lines of pushing the counselling date to October end so as to ensure its new nativity rule is implemented. On the other side, Andhra Pradesh government says this move will make the students lose a precious one academic year and will not let it happen. The Supreme Court had supported AP's view in this issue. The council of higher education today had a meeting and decided that it will announce the date of the counseling on 30th of this month. The certificates verification will begin from August. The Telangana representatives in the council, Chief Secretary of Telangana Education Ministry and Technical Education Commissioner did not attend this meeting for obvious reasons. KCR's government wants to make sure that new nativity rule which enables fees reimbursement only to those students whose families reside in Telangana before 1956, the year from which United State came in to existence. KCR government is also going to introduce an exclusive program - FAST (Financial Assistance to Telangana Students) in the place of reimbursement and is seeking time to implement this new nativity rule with out legal issues. On the other side, Andhra Pradesh government does not want to give this time to Telangana government.  With Supreme court on its side, AP government is marching fast in EAMCET Counselling. We will have to see what KCR does to counter this move!
