The Telangana government’s ambitious Rs 20-crore household survey has reportedly cost Telangana industry thousands of crores in terms of production and trade losses as it had forced companies and business establishments to shut one full day’s work on Tuesday. Sources say that this mammoth exercise has reportedly brought manufacturing units across all sectors like steel and ferro alloys, pharma, auto components and plastics, among others, towards a grinding halt which also reportedly forced most IT companies to keep their critical operations ticking with only skeletal staff. Top IT companies such as Infosys and Accenture were reporetdly closed with many of their techies worked from home. Singareni Collieries Ltd, was reportedly left with a loss of 28,000 tonnes of coal as 60,000 employees were off duty. At a time when T Inc., only started warming up to the TRS government after all the bandhs and agitation, they are now once again reportedly skeptical about the future of industry in the newborn state expressing certain discomfort about the survey.
