The prestigious Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) reportedly has land, shopping complexes and other buildings not just in AP but also in Nepal, Karnataka, Delhi, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Pondicherry and Odisha. Endowments Minister Manikyal Rao has reportedly informed the same in AP Assembly during the Question Hour where he added that market value of the landed properties owned by the TTD is close to Rs 9,800 crore. There is a total of 4,657.51 acres of land belonging to TTD in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, and another 125.75 acres outside AP including Nepal and other states of India. Regarding high encroachments the government reportedly said that it will take all steps. They are determined to see that every inch of TTD’s properties are protected. At the same time there are reports that the unstated properties including precious jewels may rise this figure to more than 50,000 crores.
