It looks like compared to YSRCP, though ineffective, Congress party in Seemandhra is slowly gearing up for agitations given the hope that its defected cadre to YSRCP can come back given Jagan’s immature stance.
The Congress party is reportedly gearing up to launch an agitation for pressurizing the ruling Telugu Desam Party to meet its election promises, especially regarding the farm loan waiver. The party has reportedly taken a decision for holding demonstrations in front of the commercial banks, which have started auctioning the gold, that were reportedly pledged by the farmers.
Addressing a workers’ meet under the banner ‘Reconstruction of Congress Party’, PCC chief N. Raghuveera Reddy had declared that the agitation would begin in East Godavari district on September 8th.
He also served an ultimatum to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for waiver of all the farm loans and including debts of Self-Help Groups without any pre-conditions and also for announcing a cut-off date for this implementation.
