The Telangana government’s new tricks are now coming out. There have been reports that the TS government reportedly asked the 14th Finance Commission to take the settlers into account before issuing some special grants. In a letter which has been submitted to the Commission, the Telangana CM KCR had reportedly stated that in the year 1971, while there were only 3 lakh settlers from AP and 2 lakh people from other states, these numbers have now increased over the years. The settlers have reportedly reached 67 lakh. Among them, the report mentions that 37 lakh are from Seemandhra while the rest of 24 lakh have come from other states out of the total 3.5 crore population in Telangana government. Although statistical wise it may be logical to present facts and figures, it is now puzzling to see how this can be used as a ruse to get more funds given that it is natural to witness influx of population everywhere in India. India’s population has grown from 100 crores to 127 from 2000 to 2014, so this can’t be a logical reason for more funds!
