Hopes of Telangana state for highlighting its cultural heritage during the first Republic Day parade in Delhi for 2015 after the new state formation was dashed with the reports that the ministry of Defence had rejected its proposal for a tableau based on Bonalu festival.
Despite CM K Chandrasekhar Rao conveying to Defence Minister Arun Jaitely that the government should consider the Telangana tableau for the R-Day parade, the selection committee seems to have taken off the new state's proposed tableau from this shortlist. What is causing more heartburn for fledgling state is that residuary Andhra Pradesh is among 21 states in the country, which have been invited for the selection committee meeting that was called for on October 28.

Sources say that a crestfallen Telangana government is now planning to approach court after this has come as shocker for Telangana as the Bonalu model was shortlisted in the last meeting held on October 7.
