Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao was claiming settlers as their own children the other day but he stirred one more controversy on the same day. The Chief Minister reportedly ordered Assembly officials to the life-size portraits of Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu and Potti Sreeramulu from the main Assembly Committee Hall No 1 as they have no relevance to Telangana state or its history. The Chief Minister has breathed fire on officials for not knowing the priorities of the state and ordered to replace Prakasam Panthulu's portrait with one of Mahatma Gandhi’s. "They may be leaders to Andhra people but not for us. We can not bear them even after having the separate state", said KCR angrily. It is also said that the Chief Minister asked the Assembly officials to remove them before the Budget session which begins from November 5th. He also asked the officials to touch base with their Andhra Pradesh officials and hand over them those portraits if they want to have them. This kind of controversies may not go well with the settlers of the new state. Telangana Rashtra Samiti clearly wants to woo them for their votes in the upcoming GHMC elections but at the same time are making them insecured with such unwanted comments and moves. Our readers may be reminded that KCR made similar comments about the statues on Tank Bund and hinted at removing and replace them with that of Telangana greats.
