In what is being seen as setback to Telangana's attempts to augment its power supply in the state, sources say that the Hinduja power company has finalized its decision to sell the entire 1,040 MW of power which would be generated from its plant in Visakhapatnam only to Andhra Pradesh. Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao earlier held negotiations the Hinduja officials seeking more than fifty percent of the power the private company would be generating from the Vizag plant for Telangana as stipulated in the AP Reorganization Act. However, now sources say that the Hinduja National Power Company would be entering into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the govt of AP government for supplying the entire 1,040 MW to AP on November 29. KCR, during press conference on October 24, blamed that Hindujas have already informed him that they were under pressure from AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu to supply the whole power generated at their Vizag plant to AP. Telangana which has cited the AP Reorganisation Act is insisting that it would have to get its share of 53.89 percent in the power that was generated in the united state and soon it is expected to approach Centre and also the court.
