Telangana statehood, this is one aspect that damaged a fortress called TDP like never before in Telangana region and only future can say whether the party can make a comeback again.
The stalwarts of Telugu Desam have all left the party while the party is holding onto some powerful leaders still. Those who left TDP such as Nagam Janardhan Reddy are currently unable to see any future role although they are in BJP now.
Recently it was the turn of Tummala Nageshwar Rao, the Kamma strongman from Khammam who quit TDP and joined the Velama bandwagon of TRS known for its staunch Telangana stand while he himself has never even uttered a single word in favor of Telangana.
Yesterday during a TV show, when Nagam got Tummala on phone line he couldn’t hide his sarcasm saying ‘Congrats dear friend even without getting elected as an MLA or saying Jai Telangana, Tummala has directly become a minister’. Well Nagam got nothing in return for leaving TDP or for saying Jai Telangana on streets!
