AP Government has paid attention for the development of all airports in the state. Expansion of Tirupathy and Rajahmundry airports in two phases are part of the airport developments in the state. Government has a plan to procure 700 acres in first phase and 1165 acres in second phase for the extension of Tirupathy Airport.

Being it declared as International airport, Aviation ministry will give permissions to night landings in Tirupathy airport. Air India introduced new flights to Hyderabad and Vijayawada from Tirupathy from February 01st onwards. 70 seater AI flight will take off from Shamshabad at 7.45 am and reached Gannavaram at 8.55 am. It will leave Vijayawada around 9.25 am and reach Tirupathy at 10.45 am.

As part of the development activities for Godavari Pushkaramsin July, Chief Minister CBN ordered officials on expansion of Rajahmundry airport. Government has agreed to release 210 crores for land pooling. First flight will landed on March 01st in Kadapa. Officials have planned to start service from Hyderabad to Bangalore via Kadapa. CBN asked Indigo airlines to run services to Kadapa also.

Low cost airports will be developed in Nagarjuna Sagar, Donakonda, Nellore and Kuppam in the state. Government is in search for land for second airport (Greenfield Airport) in Visakhapatnam near Bhogapuram.
