Many expected Prime Minister Narendra Modi to delight people of Andhra Pradesh with special status announcement when the AP CM celebrated capital construction foundation ceremony at Amaravathi in a spectacular manner inviting all national and international leaders on Dasara.
PM Modi went silent on special status
However much to the shock of all PM Modi went silent on special status and just concluded his speech by praising CM Chandra Babu and offering all assistance as per the AP state reorganisation act.
Modi didnot talk about special status or special package. Even TDP and BJP leaders were shellshocked with Modi's speech. Many expected Modi to make some announcemts to cool the anger of AP people after he announced special package of more than 100crs to Bihar during elections.
BJP leaders who then said after elections PM will give special status to AP are now speechless. Some say Modi would have made the announcement but since he didnot get the report from Neeti Ayog on Andhra Pradesh, he was restrained from taking any decision. Some farmers surprised all with their knowledge saying if Modi sees political gains from AP, Modi will announce special status immediately or else he will not.
