Veteran member of BJP party and Union Minister from state of Telangana Bandaru Dattatreya collapses during campaign. He is fondly called as Dattanna. The veteran was campaigning for the Warangal by-poll elections. He was taken to the nearby hospital.
Sources said he was bleeding from the nose. He was given immediate medical care at the Max Care hospital in town. He was campaigning for P.Devaiah who is a combined candidate for both BJP as well as TDP in the by elections. Dattana was also elected for Loksabha from Secunderabad Constituency.
He is also national Vice preisdent in Bharatiya Janata Party. Just like other BJP memebrs, he is also a hardcore RSS member. He served as a pracharak before entering BJP. So far he has been in various posts and he has been a loyal member to BJP.
He started his career as BJP Secretary in Andhra Pradesh during 1980. Later he became MLA in 1991 and once again he got re elected as MLA in 1999. He also became the union minister for Development and poverty Alleviation during 2000-01.
