Battle lines are all set to be drawn for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections with the Telangana state government issuing its final notification over the delimitation of wards in the corporation.
Sources say that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) looks to be first off the block in marking its presence in the city, by erecting many hoardings, large and small, which serves to highlight the government's programmes earmarked for city and state.
The elections for GHMC are scheduled to be organized by January 31,2016. All the political parties are expected to hit Hyderabad’s streets after the announcement of results for Warangal bypoll on November 24.
The elections to the GHMC is a do or die battle for all major political parties, and mainly for TRS since Hyderabad is the state capital while winning GHMC elections is very important the parties. GHMC's jurisdiction covers around 24 assembly constituencies, that would also play a key role in the outcome of 2019 assembly elections.
