A massive agitation is reportedly brewing in Telangana state with farmers in the region all set to take to the streets as part of their protests against the TRS government. The states farmers are alleging that the government is dodging when it comes declaring drought situation in Telangana.

Meanwhile the Telangana Farmers' Joint Action Committee will be giving one week's ultimatum to the state government before the formal plans for launching a widespread protest. The Farmers' JAC would be writing to chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today requesting him to declare drought-hit mandals by next week.

There are reports that failing which farmers will be launching the agitation across the state. The agitation may result in a face-off between the Telangana’s Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman M Kodandaram and CM KCR.

The Farmers' JAC is reportedly seeking Kodandaram's leadership for leading the farmers' agitation since he has the implacable credentials of successfully leading Telangana statehood movement. They point how the Centre announced Rs.1,540 crore in drought related aid for neighbouring Karnataka, since it gave drought report very early.
