Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti won the Warangal by-election with a thumping majority. In fact, the majority is the highest in the history of Warangal. TDP-BJP combine was reduced to the third place and their candidate even lost his deposit there. In fact they could not even manage the voting they got in the last elections.
Their candidate could not even put up an impressive show in the segments TDP won the last time. That indicates that the popularity of the Cycle party is on decline. People see TDP as an Andhra Party and BJP as its Thoka Party. BJP is also being burdened by the friendship with TDP. The saffron party will have no future in Telangana if the alliance continues.
On the other side, the other Andhra Party, YSR Congress is also on a similar track. The party was reduced to fourth position in the election. An unknown party, Shramajeevi Party also managed more votes than YSR Congress revealing its plight in Telangana. All in all, there seem to be no future for Andhra Parties in Telangana.
