Rains completely disappeared from Chennai from Wednesday. People are slowly turning back to their normal routine life. But still Velacherry-Tambaram highway is flooded. This is where lots of IT parks ar elocated and the road is often known to be busy. Travel has been hard due to waist high waters.

The only difference is right now it is Knee deep. Chennai corporation has never took any steps to clear the water. As per some reports, A lake near Pallikaranai has reached the capacity and it is overflowing due to the rain. The water has even reached Balaji dental college.

An IT Professional, Mr.Ravi said, "The traffic is so bad due to these water logs. I am stuck in a traffic for 2 hours." Ramanan who is the director of Regional MET centre said "The average rain fall during this North east monsoon is 79 cm. But for past few weeks the city has got 101 cm rainfall."
