The number of Engineers produced in Tamil Nadu is higher than any other state. Lots of students from other states are also coming to Tamil Nadu to study Engineering. The number of engineers got reduced as the subject lost its value. Government also gave permission to most of them.
Tamil Nadu is upbeat with nearly 30,000 students receiving offers. Every year 200,000+ guys are passing out and only 30,000 are getting job offers. But recently it was said that 40% of job offers are expected to get a raise and tech firms are looking for 35,000 new employees.
Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, HCL and Accenture have recruited 25,000 engineers from campus interviews. This process will start from January 2016. The entry level salaries have raised to Rs.5 Lakhs per annum. Last time it was just 3 Lakhs per year. Due to this remuneration, most of them are willing to join Engineering colleges.
The colleges also have increased the seats for each course. The allotment is higher this year. Senior Director K.Purushothaman said, "More than 3 Million people are employed in IT sector and 10% of them are in Tamil Nadu. The contribution from TN has been significant."
