It is a known fact that the Hyderabad Metro Rail project has been facing many hurdles right from beginning. As he vowed, KCR made sure
that there remains a rethinking on part of L&T over the realignment near Sultan Bazaar and Gun Park areas. At the same time MIM has been demanding for a realignment of the Metro Rail route in Sultan Bazaar and also other areas all along Charminar to Falaknuma section of Old city due to several religious structures.
Metro Rail cannot be a reality in the Old City
The government also bowed to the pressure of MIM.Now, L &T has finally cleared the air that there will be no such realignment as it would lead to huge cost escalation and that it would be sticking to what was the original plan. The government has even agreed finally for the same.Responding to the latest decision, Akbaruddin has thundered saying if there is no realignment of Metro, then the entire Metro Rail cannot be a reality in the Old City. With GHMC elections coming up, it would be interesting to see how can KCR take on this challenge of MIM!
