The last CM of United Andhra Pradesh, Kiran Kumar Reddy has more or
less disappeared into political oblivion as new party, Samayikya Andhra
Party had failed managed to even gain a single deposit during 2014
elections.
Kiran Kumar Reddy did not even
contest directly in last elections. It is a known fact that he espoused
the cause of United AP when AP bifurcation proceedings reached its peak
in Delhi. He openly revolted against Congress leadership then.
After
the elections, there were on and off rumours that he might join BJP and
also lead the party in the residuary state of AP. However such a thing
didn’t happen. It is now being said that Kiran is hoping for a comeback
to Congress.
He is currently in talks with
Congress high command but his lone demand is that he should be offered
the reins of the party in the state of AP. Kiran was once a close
confidante of Sonia Gandhi but later differed with her regarding
bifurcation and quit the congress. But his attempts to rejoin Congress
when its chapter is totally being closed in AP is being seen as a new development!
