World AIDS Day is designated on 1st of December since 1988. It is used to dedicate an awareness on AIDS Pandemic caused by spread of HIV infection. Now with 1721 new cases during period of April - October'15, Ranga Reddy district has topped the list with 1721 cases.
This is the highest number of HIV positive case in Telangana state. Ranga Reddy has registered 902 fresh HIV positive cases among these 1721 with a prevalence rate of 2.49%. Standing next to Ranga Reddy is, Hyderabad. Hyderabad has 819 HIV positive cases with a prevalence rate of 2.17%.
If we calculate the period from March'14 - March'15 we have a shocking report of 14,548 HIV cases and the total amount of people who were detected with HIV are 77,893. This is indeed shocking. The statistical data was revealed by officials of the Telangana State Aids Control with respect to the World AIDS Day event.
Health inspectors have been announced to make counseling at schools and colleges. Now on World AIDS Day, they have been asked to achieve a goal of 'Getting to Zero' target.
