Union Minister P.Chidambaram's son Karthi Chidrambaram's two firms were raided today morning. The raids came as a surprise factor. The raids was conducted by Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax department on Advantage Strategic Consulting.
As per reports, Karthi Chidambaram was associated with those companies. It has to be recalled that by month of August, 2 directors were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Aircel-Maxis case and they were charged for money laundering.
Now we hear from sources that a transaction of more than 200 Crores was made between these two companies. Aircel Maxis cleared its name from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB). This whole matter is under scrutiny and this brings the 2G scam into play.
The Supreme Court is still listening to the case. CBI also said earlier that Karthi Chidambaram was involved in Rajasthan Ambulance scam. Lots of senior leaders including former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, former Union minister Sachin Pilot, son of former Union minister Vayalar Ravi were named in that case. Right now we never got updates regarding these raids.
