Chennai Rains are back and there has been lots of devastation everywhere. The normal life is completely shattered. People are just cage birds inside their home due to these incessant rains. Now we hear from reports that lots of industries are facing losses due to these rains.
If reports are to be believed, the Chennai industrial community has suffered a huge loss of over 500 crores due to these floods. Most of them have built their own dams to keep waters away. Most of them criticize authorities for not making a perfect layout to drain waters and that has been the reason for high flooding.
An industrialist K.Sridar said, "We have new technologies. But the city is not even planned." Former president of Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association P.S.Ramesh said, "Most manufacturers are looking at vendors as we defaulted. This is going to affect the whole industrial community here. My dye unit is flooded in waters. I have lost more than 16 Lakh rupees.
My friend Venu who supplies equipment to cement manufacturers has faced 30 lakhs loss." But on other hand authorities blame it on the overflowing lake and ponds and they say a permanent solution will be made soon. But the big question is, who will compensate the losses to these business people ?
