Chandra babu Naidu who is Telugu Desam Party Chief and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is making necessary amendments to provide 'Sankranthi gifts'. The entire amount is said to be Rs.430 Crores.
Naidu has launched a new scheme "Chandranna Kaanuka" (gift) last year to supply essential commodities for free to people holding white ration cards on the occasion of Sankranthi. As per reports there are 1.41 Crore beneficiaries right now.
Right now all TDP leaders are pressurizing the officials to award contracts to procure stocks of essential commodities based on their recommendation. The government is not interested in packet contracts and they fell that they should be given to people of their choice.
TDP leaders expect to earn 20 per cent commission out of these contracts, which would mean they get at least Rs 90 crore. So this time it is going to be a great 'Sankranthi' for all TDP leaders as they are going to be showered with more money.
