Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekar Rao had a great start to Yaagam few days back. But the last day of Yaagam ended with a massive fire. The fire broke out in the main pandal, triggering panic at the venue.
Sources say that the fire broke out in the main pandal around 1:30 pm, shortly before President Pranab Mukherjee arrived. As the fire spreaded, it caused more panic among the people. As it was a weekend, there was a huge crowd to attend this Yaagam.
But due to this fire, there was so tension. Four fire engines came to the spot at once and the fire was put off in 30 minutes. Officials said that all people who attended the ceremony were immediately evacuated and no one was injured in the fire. Due to this, the visit of Pranab Mukherjee was cancelled immediately.
Several VIPs including the chief minister, his ministers and state governor ESL Narasimhan were present at the venue when this mishap happened. But KCR's daughter Kavita Kalvakuntla tweeted, "All is well at ayutha Chandi yagam location. People are safe. Thousands spread around near the location have been diverted to safety."
