Chennai corporation officials are busy in throwing Chlorine on the water and they are also getting rid of garbage. But still air borne diseases and mosquitoes are a big threat. Due to the monsoon ailments, the whole city is facing dengue, typhoid and leptospirosis threats.


Now regarding the threat, Dr.R.Prasanna who is Associate Professor in Pediatrics at SRM Medical college hospital said, "In the last two weeks, we've been seeing a sharp spike in the number of people reporting with fever, and every third or fourth case turns out to be scrub typhus."


Another report said 90% of cases are coming from the outskirts of Chennai. The common symptoms are high fever. When the fever is more than 102 degrees Fahrenheit, immediate attention must be provided.


The number Scrub typhus cases have just got increased due to these floods. Doctors also advice people to take antibodies even when fever is at low level. They also warned that if the disease is left untreated, things may get more complicated.
