Seems Kashmir is facing a harsh time with drop in mercury. We already reported that the snow fall has created more troubles for the vehicles. Landslides also threaten the passengers. For past few days, things were turning out to be normal and now once again a fresh snow fall has took Kashmir by surprise.


Mercury just stayed above freezing point and the fresh snowfall was recorded at most places in the valley. Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Kupwara have reached higher temperatures. The forecasting department said that Gulmarg has recorded 5 Cms of snow and 4 Cms of fresh snow.


Officials said Snow fall is higher in Mughal Road, Sonamarg, Amarnath Cave Shrine, Razdan Pass, Sadhna Top and Gurez. At the same time, the plain valleys witnessed intermittent rains.


The official said that the city recorded 2.7 mm of rainfall during the night and registered a minimum temperature of 1.8 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature also remained above the freezing point in the towns of Qazigund, Kokernag and Kupwara.
