The early 80s saw a historic moment in the state of Andhra Pradesh and it was on the political front. After ruling the Tollywood circuit for decades, the late N T Rama Rao found the Telugu Desam Party and he won the 1982 elections with landslide majority. And things have never been the same after that.
The TDP has emerged as the largest opposition party and was giving a hard time to congress from thereon. Though parties like TRS, YSRCP have come in now, the place of TDP remains intact and credit goes to NTR for that. As part of this great legend’s tribute, a statue of that is going to be installed in the premises of Lok Sabha.
From the past few years, the issue was embroiled due to politics between TDP and the Nandamuri family but now it is heard that the road is clear and things are going underway to speed up the process and install the statue. If that happens without any issues, it will be a proud moment for all Telugus.
