Congress Party is just facing downhill for past few weeks. Earlier Sonia and Rahul were sent to court and they got bail. Now the CBI wants to prosecute the former chief minister of Maharashtra, Ashok Chavan of the Congress as he sanctioned for building Adarsh Apartments in an illegal manner.
Lots of Corruption has happened with respect to this apartments. If Governor Vidyasagar Rao sanctions the request, the Congress faces a new round of embarrassment. Chavan was the Chief Minister during the period of 2010 and he has approved everything by accepting the bribe.
By 2014, Chavan was likely to be arrested, but Governor K.Sankaranarayan refused to let Mr.Chavan to be prosecuted as per lack of evidence. It has to be noted that Adarsh Housing Society was built at the heart of Mumbai. But CBI found that politicians, ministers and bureaucrats are part of this corruption.
Mr.Chavan left the party by November'10 and three of his relatives were given apartments in the thirty one storey building. Adarsh Scam was considered to be one of the worst hit scam in the whole Nation.
