Few months back IRCTC website has been made a mockery. But now things were simplified. More new e-ticketing rules were made and one among them is change of boarding points.
Passengers will now be able to log in to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website at irctc.co.in and revise the details regarding changes in boarding stations. For instance if a passenger books a ticket from Chennai to Thoothukudi and he/she decides to board the train at Chengalpet or Villupuram, he can do that just by clicking the mouse.
The procedure to change the boarding point was introduced recently. And for the rest, they need to visit the nearest reservation office and submit a print out of the ticket along with valid ID proof to make the change.
Ticket checkers will now cancel a ticket booking and they will allot it to some passenger who is on the waiting list. Officials confirmed that it will be completely functional by February 15th. Sources said that the facility will be available up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure of a train.
