It was the ruling party until recently and it was the daring party which went ahead and granted the dream of Telangana. But the party is in dire straits today and it may be staring at a very highly ignominious defeat in GHMC region!
The Congress is predicted to just win anywhere between three to seven corporators. The big loser may be fore Congress. The party, which till recently had 55 corporators and salso hared power with the MIM being reduced to a single digit is coming as a shocker.
Some of the exit polls predicted that the Congress would secure no more than 10 seats. According to TV9 analysis, the Congress will only win 8-10 divisions while TV5 gave Congress just seven wards.
There were some clashes between the workers of MIM and Congress in Old city, which resulted in the police detaining MIM MLA Ahmad Pasha Qadri as well as Congress candidate from Puranapul’s division Mohammed Ghouse. There are rumours that cadre of Congress has moved towards TRS!
