Island Express which was travelling from Kanyakumari to Bengaluru derailed at Naatrampalli in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu. The mishap happened by today early morning and so far there has been no casualties. A report said that 13 people were injured in this mishap.


The report also added that the accident took place by early morning 4:50am. The reason for the accident is also unknown. Officials are analyzing various reasons behind this derailment. The injured persons were taken to nearby hospital. And due to this mishap, around 11 trains were cancelled and other trains were changed routes.


The trains which were cancelled are, Chennai - Bengaluru - Chennai double decker, Chennai - Bengaluru - Chennai Brindavan Express and Lalbagh Express. And some eleven trains on Chennai - Bangalore - Chennai sector were cancelled due to this accident.


The path is going to be cleared after some time. Coimbatore - Rajkot Junction Express has been diverted via Tirupattur, Jolarpettai, Katpadi and Renigunta. An official said, this is going to take at least 18 hours for us to clear the path.
