Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham is all set to launch his indefinite fast along with his wife, today scaling up his demands regarding reservation for Kapu community. The former minister and his wife Padmavati formally launched the fast at Kirlampudi in East Godavari district today at 9 a.m.

They are now asking state government to immediately get Kapus included in the list of backward classes (BC) and offer them reservations in education and jobs. Padmanabham made a statements yesterday that he is welcome if governments wants to speak to him.

Some leaders of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) met him on Thursday and requested him to drop his fast. But he added that he would be continuing his fast till the government comes out with a clear cut announcement over fulfilling the poll promise of according Kapus BC status.

At the same time, there are reports that some good package of compromises may be offered by AP Cm Chandrababu Naidu to him to call off the agitation. It remains interesting to see what is inside the so called package from Babu!
