Nandamuri Balakrishna who is an actor cum politician voted for GHMC polls and now the question raises that how could he cast his vote in Telangana as he is already MLA of Andhra Pradesh state. Ponnam Prabhakar who is former MP in Karimnagar said this is against the law.


Ponnam also lodged a complaint with State Election Commission  and he demands disqualification of Balakrishna as a Member of Legislative Assembly as per election code. Earlier Balakrishna who represented indupur constituency in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh State, cast his vote in Jubilee Hills division in GHMC elections.


He also gave pose for media by showcasing his Ink mark. And regarding this Ponnam said in his complaint that a person can contest in elections only when he can vote in that particular state. He met press and said, "As per rules, Balakrishna cannot cast his vote in Telangana State.


He is in fact not even eligible." Ponnam also said as per Public Representatives Act, a person has to be a voter anywhere in the country if he wanted to contest in Lok Sabha elections, but a person must be a voter in his own State if he wanted to contest in Assembly elections.
