Famous SInger and composer Shan Johnson was found dead in her apartment at Kodambakkam, Chennai. She is 31 years old. Police suspect that she committed suicide and they have have sent her body for postmortem. They are also waiting for an autopsy report.
Police official said, "Shan is the daughter of late Malayalam film music director Johnson. She was lying in bed when we found her. She lived in a second-floor flat in an apartment complex on Chakrapani Street, Kodambakkam. As per witnesses, Shan came to her flat by 8:30pm after visiting her aunt Gisha in Mylapore.
On Friday morning, Shan's mother, who stayed back in Gisha's house, attempted to telephone her daughter about a trip to Kochi. The singer had planned to fly to Kochi. But she never responded and her mom panicked. She called her neighbours and they found that door was locked from inside.
As there was no response, they informed Ashok Nagar police by 12:30pm. We arrived by 1pm and broke the door to find her lying on bed. On initial investigation we found that she was on medication for stomach pain. She never left any suicide note."
