Well after the series of failures and setbacks for the Telangana unit of TDP, now this is the only last long term hope. From 1982, when the party was launched to 2009 elections, the massive cadre of TDP gave jitters to all other parties.
But the flare up of Telangana agitation, December 9th statement by Centre and then the pressure created due to mass resignation of Seemandhra MP’s started affecting TDP. TRS managed to project the resignation as being orchestrated by TDP chief Chandrababu to halt Telangana.
After failures in core Telangana, Hyderabad was the last safe bet for the TDP to stage a comeback and prove that it still has strong cadre. But GHMC elections proved otherwise. Now the only option is to generate tremendous goodwill in AP, especially Amaravati.
The party can show this as a success and seek some votes and seats again in Telangana region, provided TRS should have started to fail. But even the most optimist feels TDP cannot come back here again for at least next 10 years!
