Andhra Pradesh police detained Mega Star Chiranjeevi and AP Congress chief Raghuveera Reddy after the two along with other Congress leaders flew to Rajamundry from Begumpet airport Hyderabad, to meet Mudragada Padmanabham,Kapu leader who is on indefinite fast in Kirlampudi, East Godavari district for the past four days demanding reservations for Kapu community.
Chiranjeevi,who is Rajyasabha MP from Congress party decided to come in support of Mudragada Padmanabham and take on AP government led by Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu. As soon as Chiranjeevi and others alighted at Rajamundry airport, cops arrested them citing security reasons.
Chiranjeevi and others blasted AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu for his inefficiency and dictatorial ways to suppress the aspirations of kapus. It is known that kapu garjana few weeks back led to huge violence in Tuni as protesters went on rampage looting everything and burning Ratnachal Express and also police stations.
Fans of Mega Star are however furious on Chiranjeevi's arrest. Many came with tweets condemning the arrest of Chiranjeevi.
