From yesterday, things were so busy in Chennai. It was 11:15am yesterday morning. A huge queue of parents was seen in front of DAV Girls Senior Secondary School in Gopalapuram. The admission process began right on day one. Hundreds of parents stood in queue for hours to get the application forms for the Children's admission.

At one stage most of them even started to raise the documents against their forehead in order to seek relief from the scorching sun. For every ten minutes, a batch of 50 students were let inside and the rest waited for their turn. The same scene was scene in lots of other schools too.

It is that time of the year where admission forms are rolling out and parents are also thronging schools to ensure they pick the right school for their wards. Most of the schools started the admissions for the academic year 2016-17.

Most of the schools sold more than 1000 applications on day one itself. A teacher from Chettinad Vidyashram said, "There was a huge rush on Monday as it was considered an auspicious day (amavasai). Most parents fileld out the forms and we saw a huge response."
