Ruling TRS party swept keenly and bitterly contested GHMC polls. Now countdown started as to who will become the mayor of the Hyderabad city.
Many aspirants started competing for the coveted post which is reserved for backward class candidate. Inside talk is two names are emerging as front runners and they are TRS youth wing president Bonthu Rammohan and Gadwala Vijayalakshmi, daughter of TRS general secretary K Keshava Rao.
Seri Subhash Reddy, political secretary to chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao speaking to scribes said there are many aspirants but final decision will be taken by CM KCR.
Many are of the opinion that KCR's son KTR will have final say in the mayor candidate as he was incharge of the entire GHMC campaign. KCR too according to sources gave free hand to his son KTR. Of the two contenders Vijayalakshmi seems to be having an edge but Bonthu Ram Mohan is KCR's favourite.
Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be elected tomorrow at 11.AM with 217 members exercising their vote along with 150 newly elected corporaters and 67 ex officio members.
