Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is right now facing more heat as there has been a rising rate in unadulterated food flooding local markets. But there has been no proper food inspectors to check out these. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) also doesn't address this as a serious concern.

As always everyone blames the civic body for not conducting regular checks on these edibles. When we tried to sneak into the matter, we were shocked to see that 26 Food inspector posts are still vacant since 2013. Right now GHMC has just four inspectors to inspect more than 25,000 food joints.

And worst thing is only two of them are on duty. As per rules, if the slot is empty, the vacancy has to be filled based on Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). An examination will be conducted to fill the posts. But GHMC Officials pass the buck on Government and TSPSC.

Some officials blatantly blame the TSPSC for not taking necessary steps to fill the vacancies despite Government orders. Ravi Kiran who is additional commissioner said, "Unless TSPSC doesn't release notification for exam, these posts can't be filled."
