Reportedly it was said that Vijay Mallya has received a notice from the Supreme Court and he is indebted to an amount of 9000 crores to 17 banks. The Court asked him to reply within few days. Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi informed the Court that he already left India before receiving the petition.


Attorney also said that he has left the country before the Justices Kurian Joseph and R.F.Nariman sent the petition. The Attorney General said that Mallya should have appeared and surrendered the money as it was public money. The bench ended the hearing and said that the bench will send the notice through Indian High Commission at London and they are planning to send to his official e-mail ID.


Meanwhile the court has asked questions to the bankers as even though they know that he is a guy who is facing lots of cases against court of law. The Attorney General said that he has to give huge amount of 9000 crores to various banks. AG further said Mallya’s assets value is lesser than his loan amount.  He has assets worth for 7000 crores but his loan amount is more than that.


Banks are seeking order to make Mallya to appear in person before the court and they also demand his passport should be impounded. Loans were granted to him as was associated with the Kingfisher Airlines. The Media has said that the banks had approached him late as he already left India with 40 million dollars. Another report has said that Mallya has went to London. The SBI has given huge amount and they have asked the Government to contact London Embassy. The next hearing comes on 28th of March.
