As we were all speculating, Vijayakanth was expected to keep alliance with DMK. On other hand few speculated that he will be joining hands with BJP as Javed Akthar spoke with him. But putting an end to all rumours and speculations, Vijayakanth has decided to contest alone.
In the unexpected scenario, DMDK Chief Vijaykanth has decided to stand alone and he said, "I thank all leaders of all parties who visited me at my home in search of alliances. DMDK does not wish to bridge with other parties."
This news shocked DMK as they were heavily banking on his support to win the upcoming assembly polls. However this decision will turn fruitful for AIADMK as the votes will get scattered. BJP National Secretary H.Raja said that he welcomes this decision of Vijayakanth and he said he should stick to it even after elections.
Vijayakanth also took a hit against media and said there was no bargaining for seats as media portrayed it to be. He said he never need any teacher to advise on alliances and there is no confusion for him to say that he will contest alone. Vaiko and Thirumalavalavan too welcomed this decision.
