Oil Marketing companies increased the prices of petrol by Rs 3.07 per litre and prices of Diesel by Rs.1.90. The new prices came into effect from yesterday midnight. The hardening of global crude oil rates warranted such an increase in price of Petrol and Diesel.
Now Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has requested Central Government to revoke the hike in prices of Petrol and Diesel. In a statement, she said, "There has been sudden hike in Petrol and Diesel prices. Various reasons are said behind this hike.
I have always stressed the fact that the way Oil corporations fix rates for Petrol and Diesel is wrong. Most of the Oil corporations use Kachaa Oil and they just purify it and make petroleum and diesel. So there is no chance that the price can hike. This is not just about hike in Petrol or Diesel.
Due to this hike, the basic necessities will also be increased. Most of the trucks carry goods and they have to increase the prices on all the goods. Due to this middle class people will be affected badly. Central Government must realize the after effects and take a good decision."
