As summer has come many people feel very tough to cope up with the burning heat. The air conditioned bus shelters will be of full use for many people. The Tiruchy City Corporation has teamed up with the City Union Bank and has set up the air conditioned bus shelters, with the motto of providing cooling comfort to the passengers.


Such types of air conditioned shelters are opened at Amma Mandapam at Srirangam zone, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital at K. Abhishekapuram zone, Joseph Eye Hospital in Golden Rock Zone and Gandhi Market in Ariyamangalam zone. The shelters are opened with private participation was opened to the public from January 2015.


The private banks have set up the shelters for nearly 25 to 30 Lakhs and the shelters are with transparent glasses with cushioned seats which aids for the passengers to see the arrival of buses to their destinations. But presently the A/c machines are not functioning properly and the people are not entering the cabin now-a-days.


A passenger who was waiting at the Gandhi market said the people are not making use of the shelters without proper service. He said no one is using the A/c shelters as it is not functioning and it is the duty of the passengers to keep it neat and tidy. The A/c shelters importance is not known to many and they spill foods and spit inside the shelters.
