In an interesting turn of events, DMK Chief M.Karunanidhi has met his estranged elder son MK Azhagiri. This has created spark in Political circles and there are speculations that this might be the return of the former south zone secretary. However Opposite party leaders are lashing out at Karunanidhi that he doesn't have any control over party affairs.
DMK Treasurer and Younger brother of MK Azhagiri MK Stalin said that this was nothing political. He said, "This meeting has no political significance. Matters related to party affairs were not discussed during this meeting.
I just got information that he met father and mother and he inquired about their health conditions. I request media not to blow this out of proportion." Spokesperson TKS Elangovan said he himself is not sure about the purpose of this meeting.
But party leaders are so cautious that Azhagiri should not return and most of them are unhappy regarding this meeting as this could backfire them in the upcoming elections. A reliable source said, "MK Stalin is struggling to bring the party back into power and this meeting will definitely pull down the party."
However another set of persons believe that Azhagiri can't resurface the cracks as the party is completely under MK Stalin control right now. There are also speculations that Karunanidhi don't want to be antagonistic as DMDK had alliance with People's Welfare Party.
