The Center is gearing up to give another stroke to the TDP-led
Andhra Pradesh government. If reports are to be believed, around Rs.900
crores will be released from the center to the AP government as against
the proposed requirement of nearly 24,000 crores.
Out
of this 900 crores, Rs.500 crores will be given to bridge the revenue
deficit followed by 200 crores for Polavaram Project and the remaining
Rs.200 crores will be offered for the construction of Amaravathi. These
amounts are expected to be released by March 31st.
There
are huge differences between the central government and AP Government
in terms of discharging the funds required for the financially strained
state. The Centre has been accusing the AP Govt. for diverting the funds
given for Polavaram and Capital Construction to other welfare schemes.
The
people of Andhra Pradesh are already dissatisfied with recent budget
that has been tabled in parliament. They are now confident that center
is fully ready to wash the hands off with meagre help. This could mean
that any move by BJP to enter Andhra Pradesh will be met with failure.
